Machine Learning Engineer Intern

What you’ll do

Work on Wayfinding projects that impact the business and contribute to Transcarent’s mission of better health and care

You'll gain exposure to how a real engineering team works, from sprint planning to shipping code

You’ll be exposed to experienced engineers from all backgrounds (web development, mobile, API, Salesforce, etc.)

You'll have a formal mentor on your team guiding you throughout your internship period

What we’re looking for

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Proficiency in SQL and Python.

Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering, including concepts like tool-use, retrievalaugmented generation (RAG), and structured outputs

Familiarity with LangChain and LangGraph, including building agentic workflows, tool calling pipelines, and multi-step orchestration patterns.

Experience working with ML evaluation methods, such as benchmarking, automated testing, rubric-based grading, or model performance analysis.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, and collaborate across engineering, product, and research teams.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

Nice to have

Experience with tools like LangChain, Langsmith, and Snowflake.

Coursework or project work involving building agents with RAG capabilities.

Basic understanding of Git and version control workflows.

Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal equity.
