As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful software development projects that support the next generation of vision‑enhancing technologies. This internship is based at our Lake Forest, CA location.
In this role, a typical day will include:

Gathering and analyzing user requirements for embedded software solutions

Researching technologies and platforms related to embedded software development

Designing, coding, and testing software in C/C++ and/or Python
-
Authoring clear, structured technical documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship

Must be pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or similar degrees

Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0

Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g., extracurricular activities or projects)

Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F‑1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated

Ability to commit to a 10–12 week full‑time (40 hrs/week) summer internship
Preferred Requirements:
-
Experience developing C/C++ software for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, S32K1xx)
-
Familiarity with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as ThreadX or FreeRTOS

Ability to read PCBA schematics
-
Experience writing Python scripts
- Hands‑on experience with embedded software tools, including:

Cross compilers

In‑circuit debuggers
