Test Engineering Intern

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Test Engineering Intern to join its world class Stack Development team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding experience in one of today’s most exciting technologies.

The Fuel Cell Test Engineering Intern is responsible for timely design and execution of test protocols on fuel cell stacks and components. The Test Engineering Intern is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all internal customers, co-workers, and others as appropriate. The Test Engineering intern is also required to maintain continuous communication with direct manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design specialized test hardware, fixtures and data acquisition equipment

  • Collect and analyze test data

  • Prepare and deliver presentations explaining results and conclusions

  • Make recommendations for improved test designs

  • Perform in-process inspection of data and notify team of irregularities

  • Debug mechanical, electrical and chemical problems with the test equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently a student earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Must be graduating between spring 2026 and summer 2027

  • Takes direction well

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Experience or course work requiring use of lab electronics (i.e. multimeter, oscilloscope, breadboard circuits, etc.)

  • Professional & collaborative – demonstrated ability to work closely within a team

  • Organizational and planning skills

  • Strong sense of ownership and workmanship

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., JMP, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Programming experience is a plus (C, C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Visual Basic, etc.)

  • Exposure to electrochemistry, fuel cell, or battery technology is a plus
