Glendale System Software Engineering Internship - Fall 2026
Description
The Systems Software Engineering team ensures that the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts permeate and create happiness within Modeling, Simulation & Training.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area.
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 – December 2026. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
What You Will Do:
As a Systems Software Engineering intern, you will have the unique opportunity to assist with a variety of projects within our software engineering department.
On any given day you might:

Contribute to the development of guest throughput attraction models
-
Help build Hardware-In-The-Loop test beds for attractions
-
Develop our in-house tools built off the C++ and C# framework
Required Qualifications & Skills:
-
Experience with Object Oriented Programming, preferably C++ or C#
-
Ability to troubleshoot and assess software errors and implement solutions
-
Familiar with continuous integration tools like Gitlab
-
Experience with controls hardware
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

It would be great if you have/are familiar with:

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision

Professional demeanor, focused, articulate and well organized
Education:
-
Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college/university, earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related major.

GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding)
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

Be at least 18 years of age
-
Possess unrestricted work authorization
-
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information:
• Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines (for DX)
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• Fully available Monday thru Friday, PST for the duration of the internship,40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role as an undergraduate in CA is $31.00 /hr. The pay rate for this role as a graduate student in CA is $36.00/hr.
